General Description
The 4* Camel Hotel, which opened in 1997, is designed by divers, for divers. We are proud to have been awarded 1st prize by Tauchen Magazine (Germany) for the ‘Best Diving Hotel Worldwide’.
Camel Hotel has 38 rooms, so it is smaller and friendlier than other hotels of similar quality. All rooms are arranged on two floors around a central courtyard with swimming pool. Superior Rooms (30 rooms) have their own terrace or balcony overlooking the pool. Standard Rooms (8 rooms) are of the same quality as Superior, but without pool view. Standard Rooms may accommodate up to four beds, offering a budget option for student divers or families.
Camel Hotel is one of the few hotels in Sharm el Sheikh offering full facilities for wheelchair users. Five Superior rooms offer wheelchair access and specially-equipped bathrooms. Full wheelchair access is available to all public areas of the Hotel and Dive Club, including restaurants and bars.
Our guests particularly appreciate the wide choice of places to eat and drink on our premises. The award-winning Tandoori Indian restaurant offers dinner by candlelight in the main courtyard. Pomodoro restaurant serves full breakfast, and, at lunchtimes, a hot and cold three-course buffet. The dinner menu features Italian and grilled specialties, including home-made pizza, which all may be enjoyed indoors or on the outdoor terrace. Vanilla offers home made Italian ice cream, pastry and daily baked bread. Freshly made wraps, sandwiches and paninis are available in our modern take away restaurant Don Panino. The famous Camel Bar & Roof is a popular place where divers meet over snacks, beer and water pipes.
