Hotel Description
Surrounded by an exceptionally harmonious and romantic landscape at the foot of the Alps, Lake Constance connects Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is one of the oldest cultural regions of Europe.
Since the days of Napoleon, Bavaria has reached to the shores of the lake and thus embraces the exquisite island town of Lindau. Dating back to pre-Roman times, Lindau owes its present character and charm as much to its eventful past as to its geographical position between Munich and Zurich, Innsbruck and Strasbourg. An idyllic vacation resort, Lindau also hosts numerous congresses and every year welcomes the Nobel prize winners.
Interwined with the history of Lindau is the history of the Hotel Bad Schachen. In 1752, the vintner Johann Georg Schielin bought the "Baad zu Schachen", whose ferro-sulphur spring had been known for centuries for its healing properties. In 1757, he acquired the license for the White Swan Inn, and from that time on, seven generations of the Schielin family have striven to ensure that their hotel meets the highest of traditional European standards.
Today Hotel Bad Schachen, the former White Swan Inn, is known to its guests and friends from all over the world not only as the hotel with the richest tradition on Lake Constance, but far more, as the embodiment of everything an exclusive international hotel should be.
