Røisheim is really a traditional Gudbrandsdal valley two-courtyard farm. At one time, it was one of the largest farms in the valley, with 40 employees, and the largest milk supplier in the northern part of the valley. Røisheim was designated a coaching inn in 1858 and was declared a national monument in 1923, not only because of the buildings and the completely intact courtyard, but also due to its setting, which is of particular cultural importance.
