By Car
From the M4:
- Take the exit for junction 33 and Services, and take the first left onto the dual carriageway (A4232).
- Stay on the dual carriageway, passing the Museum of Welsh Life on your left. Remain on the A4232 for 10-15 minutes (approximately 1.5 miles). After the museum there will be a further two exits. The 3rd will be signposted Penarth.
- Take this exit and stay in the right-hand lane. Go around the roundabout and follow lane directions to Barry.
- Go through 2 sets of lights (Morrisons on left at first and Toys R Us at the 2nd) on the dual carriageway (A4055) bridge and at the 3rd set of lights, note the Barons Court pub on your right.
- Take the first left into Penarth and follow the road straight (do not turn left into the Marina and Tesco).
- Go past Land & Water on your left and proceed into Penarth, under the railway bridge.
- Bear right at the mini roundabout up a small hill into Windsor Road and the town centre.
- Go through the town across 2 zebra crossings until you come to the roundabout, go straight over and down the hill to the Front.
- Go along the seafront (one-way), passing the pier on your left and Rabaiottis Café on your right.
- Follow the esplanade straight until you come to the hill. Go up the hill and at the top, take the first right at the roundabout into Marine Parade. Pass 3 1970-ish houses on your right and then come to a red brick wall with 2 signs. This is Holm House.
From the airport:
- Cardiff International Airport is 20 minutes from Holm House.
- Leave the airport and follow signs to Barry. Once on the main road go straight to the large roundabout, staying straight.
- Go across and continue straight past Tesco and PW Millar Ford dealership, both on the left.
- After 10 minutes you will arrive at a large roundabout with 2 exits; follow the right-hand exit onto the dual carriageway.
- Go over the first roundabout and on arriving at the 2nd (with McDonalds on the corner), take the 2nd exit left with Dow Corning Chemical plant on your right.
- Follow the road to the next roundabout, going straight over into Sully village.
- Head straight on and continue onto Lavernock Road, past Cosmeston Medieval Village on the left and the Harvester on your right.
- After Glamorgan Golf Club, take the 3rd turning right into Augusta Road which becomes Raisdale Road.
- Take the 3rd turning on the left into Marine Parade, just before the ‘no entry’ signs, and Holm House is the 4th house on the right.
By Train
There are 3 trains an hour between Cardiff Central and Queen's Street (for Penarth they take 10 minutes). From the station, if you have luggage, you could take a taxi (there is a taxi office just outside the station) but it is only 5 to 10 minutes’ walk.
On Foot
From the train station:
From the station go up an alley on the right of the entrance, turn right and continue to the crossroads. Turn right into Plymouth Road on the corner is the Railway pub and opposite is NatWest Bank. Continue down Playmouth Road until you come to a turning on your left, Holmesdale Place. Follow Holmesdale Place to the next junction and turn right onto Marine Parade. Follow the road until you come to Holm House on the left (sea-side).
By Car
From the M4:
