Location
La Rsidence d'Angkor is ideally situated for visits to the numerous spectacular temples of the area.

The Temple of Angkor Wat was dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu by King Suryavarman II, who reigned between AD 1131 and 1150. The temple was constructed over a period of 30 years, and illustrates some of the most beautiful examples of Khmer and Hindu art. Covering an area of about 81 hectares, the complex consists of five towers, which are presently shown on the Cambodian national flag. In 1992, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee declared themonument, and the whole city of Angkor, a World Heritage Site.

Take time to visit not only Angkor Wat but also the myriad of other spectacular temples consumed by the jungle, such as Banteay Srei, Angkor Thom, Tha Phrom or Bayon.

Stroll through the fascinating local markets just opposite the hotel, or take a trip to the vast lake of Tonle Sap or the surrounding countryside, where Cambodia's picturesque rural life has retained its traditional rhythms.
