Kahurangi Estate is a New Zealand family owned boutique vineyard specialising in handmade wines. Kahurangi Estate was established in the early 1970's and purchased in 1998 by the Day family who changed the name to Kahurangi Estate.

Kahurangi is the Maori word meaning, "treasured possession"; " precious jewel", "pale greenstone" and " blue sky". Kahurangi National Park is New Zealand's newest and second largest national park some 452,000 hectares, situated in the nor' west corner of the South Island and best known for its Heaphy Track.

The majestic peaks of Mt Arthur and The Twins overlook Kahurangi Estate with Mt Arthur being 1795 metres in height and the Twins 1807 and 1826 metres respectively. These blue- tinged mountains dominate the dramatic backdrop and become snow covered during the winter months.

Kahurangi National Park is home to many rare species of native animals and plants as well as containing some of the countries biggest and most plentiful trout and is well catered for anglers with 500km's of tracks and 50 huts.

The original 80 year old Cottage has been completely refurbished and offers luxury accommodation in a working vineyard setting. The two bedroom Cottage is completely self-contained and has an office area with computer, fax telephone and email. We offer a unique retreat for travelers who wish to explore the beautiful Nelson Region.
