Hotel Description
For a century the meeting point of Gstaad "habitués".

Its à la carte-Restaurant for dinner with live music and the bar "La Pinte"; in the winter time "La Cave" for after hours dining and dancing. In the summer, lunch on the terrace or in the garden.

1690 the first references were made to the Olden, known at the time as an inn and mainly patronised by people passing on horse carriages. 1895 the centre of Gstaad burnt down, 8 houses were destroyed and 4 of them were reconstructed as stone houses.
Rebuilt it became an inn with some hotel rooms and in 1924 the Müllener family bought the property. During the 2nd world war the Olden grew considerably and came to fame thanks to the excellent cookery skills of Marie and the tasty morsels of meat from the adjacent farm which were during the required "non-meat war days" hidden under the pasta. In addition the patrons were entertained by the in-house family orchestra, with Hedi and Nelli jodeling to the accordion.

In 1952 Fausto arrived and he not only gave the Olden an international touch, he also married Hedi. In 1960 ‘La Cave' was opened and became the in place to eat for statesmen, artists, famout people from all over the world as well as for the locals. Many celebrations were held with this mixture of patrons and hence its claim to fame.

Today the owners of the Olden are Bernie Ecclestone and Marco Piccinini, both with close ties to Gstaad since childhood. They renovated all the rooms, restaurants and kitchens, paying special attention to preserving the cosy atmosphere the Olden is so famous for. An enthusiastic crew still takes special pride in providing the loyal patrons the service excellence and tradition the international clientele is taking for granted.
