Hotel Description
"Conversation is the food for the soul"... our ranch philosophy. Submerge yourself in the exotic culture, language, history, architecture, art, folkways of Mexico, and cuisine of the Southwest.

The vast Rancho lands border the State of Sonora, Mexico, and in the 1500's were part of New Spain. Our adobe Cantina, built in 1725 under the watchful eyes of the Franciscan Fathers, was originally a trading post. Today, tempting tequilas and other libations are served from the antique Mexican bar, and invigorating laugher reverberates around the Cantina walls.

The century-old Hacienda is filled with fine antiques and international art. It has cozy and colorful salons in which to read, rest or sip espresso. The Hacienda is also the setting for fine dining of gourmet Southwestern cuisine, drinking of fine wines and premium tequila tastings.

The natural beauty of the surrounding sacred Baboquivari Mountains, limitless variety of desert plants, animals, rare birds, and the nearby Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, with pristine Brown Canyon, the Cienega and Antelope Trail, quite naturally invite hiking, mountain biking, birding, exploring and horseback riding.
Luxury Hotel Accommodation
Territorial-style adobe guest rooms, most with a fireplace, are uniquely and vibrantly furnished with Mexican antiques. You may wish to take a dip in the pool or partake in games set around the Zocalo. Bring your sketch book, watercolors, camera, cowboy and hiking boots, imagination, love of Nature, interest, curiosity, appetite, thirst and laughter... they will all be put to great use.

There are no TVs, no radios, and few clocks. Enjoy an authentic, adventurous and relaxing ranching experience in the magnificent solitude of the Sonoran Desert and rediscover yourself in the process.

We have 19 guest rooms, all unique and different. Each room is individually decorated with its own color scheme, hand-crafted pillows and bedspreads. All rooms have a private bath, a porch and a separate entry. Most rooms have a wood burning fireplace. All rooms are ground level and open to mountain views.

Original artwork, Mexican antiques, and whimsical designs of these gorgeous ranch rooms capture the colorful spirit of the desert Southwest.

Each building is made of hand-formed adobe (mud) bricks. The oldest structure is more than 300 years old; the youngest was built in the 1920s.
