Each room has a colour TV, direct dial telephone, in-room safe, hospitality tray, hairdryer, shaver point, air conditioning and broadband Internet access. A full English or Continental breakfast is served in the lounge and is included in the price of the room.
Four Poster
Windsor is dominated by a large, reproduction Georgian mahogany four-poster bed, the room abounds with antique furniture adding to the overall ambience. The ceilings are ornately decorated with the original cornices and the fabrics are rich in texture and colour, bringing out the subtle elegance of the furniture.
Princess has a four-poster bed, which exudes romance and style in truly royal surroundings. Like the other rooms on this floor, it has a pod bathroom that enables you to marvel at the lofty ceilings and intricate cornices so typical of a Georgian drawing room. The windows retain the original shutters and give guests a marvellous view over Great Pulteney Street..
Superior Double
Crescent is the original "withdrawing room" of the townhouse built during the Regency period and much of it remains today as it was two hundred years ago. The original frames of the "wedding doors" stand at the entrance, the high ceiling retains the gorgeous plasterwork rose and, to the left, two built-in arches still remain. With a view to the rear of the house you can gaze across to the Recreation Ground, the home of Bath Rugby, one of the most famous in the land. The furnishings are coordinated around an elegant coronet bed featuring specially designed fabrics of blue and yellow. To retain as many of the original features as possible and too comply with listed buildings requirements, a pod bathroom has been tastefully built into the corner of the room.
Pulteney is a good-sized double bedroom that will appeal to those travellers who seek a little solitude. The room is compact yet spacious, comfortable but practical and, like Henrietta, has the well-decorated charm of an attic room in an English country cottage. Traditional floral fabrics and botanic paintings add to the pastoral feel.
Abbey is another "classic" with a grandiose coronet bed and richly designed fabrics. In addition, Abbey holds a number of tastefully selected items of antique furniture, and its size has permitted the owners to incorporate a bathroom that will meet the needs of the most discerning traveller. Like Crescent, Abbey is rear-facing with commanding views of the southern slopes of the city. An added advantage is the king size bed that can be adjusted to provide twin beds if desired.
Stunning in both its design and décor, the fabrics, antique furniture and paintings in Victoria remind one of the 19th century Victorian era in British history when this building was barely 40 years old. The views that this room commands are stunning, greeting guests with a panorama overlooking the recreation ground, home of Bath Rugby, and the wooded southern slopes of the city, right up to the stately pile of Ralph Allen's country mansion, Prior Park, set amidst magnificent gardens.
Standard Double
Orchard is an unusual room boasting a truly unique bathroom, which features a "half-bath" and shower built under the stairs leading up to the original servants' quarters on the third floor. The room combines a refreshing mix of blues and whites, creating an airy feeling while retaining an image of cosiness. Paintings of Wedgwood blue pottery adorn the walls and add a touch of class to the room.
Charlotte is designed in a traditional Georgian style with dado rails, striped wallpaper and the original shutters on the windows overlooking Great Pulteney Street. Although slightly smaller than our other doubles it has a queen size bed and pod bathroom.
Single
Henrietta is another room with its own individual character. Although not as large as some of the others, it lacks nothing in comfort. Conveying the image of a romantic attic room deep in the English countryside, you feel as if you are a guest in a welcoming private house. The bathroom has also been designed to fit the available space while providing a touch of class. Location
