For many years, the Firenze Hotel was established at 80 Frei Caneca Street. Very well known in the world of arts and show biz, the Firenze always had a captivated and loyal audience of artists, in part because of its excellent prices, but mainly for being so ideally located: downtown, easy to reach from both airports, (Congonhas for domestic flights and Guarulhos International), close to the theater district, cinemas and the most frequented attractions and entertainments of the city. Many Brazilian well known artists, such as Vera Fischer, Nelson Motta, Scarlet Moon and Zizi Possi, among others, chose the Firenze as home during their long stays when they abided in São Paulo. In 1996, the owners of the Firenze, the Rio Verde Group, decided to invest in a total rejuvenation of the hotel. The group is runned by executives which are frequent travelers, be it on business or to satisfy their true passion for travels. In these journeys, they got to know some exclusive design hotels, some of them from the chain Design Hotels of the World, known for their distinctive quality in services, decoration and special architecture. Immediately they identified the opportunity of doing, at the Firenze, something unprecedented among Brazilian hotels : a charming undertaken, differentiated and with an unique atmosphere. Something escaping from the pasteurized international hotel standards, which adds nothing new to guest s experience.
