Only 20 minutes from the airport & Palma, surrounded by 20,000m2 of landscaped gardens including its own vineyard, situated at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains this converted manor house is now a totally unique luxury hotel
In 1988, London lawyer Vivian Read bought the derelict Ca’n Moragues estate manor house in Santa María, Mallorca and took on the challenge of converting it into a small, luxury hotel.
Six years and a lot of effort later the project was finally completed.
Vivian Read, his wife, son and daughter have made the house into something very personal, maintaining the charm of a small country house hotel while providing all the comfort you'd expect from a luxury hotel.
Read's Hotel & Spa also boasts two restaurants both of which are open to non residents.
The á la carte restaurant, awarded it’s first Michelin star in 2002 under the auspices of Head Chef Marc Fosh, and our Bistro33 which offers a daily changing menu.
Read’s opened its doors in April 1995 and became a part of Relais & Chateaux in 2002.
In 2003 it was awarded "The Most Excellent Country Hotel in Europe 2003" Condé Nast Johansens.
Luxury Hotel Accommodation
All our rooms are an excellent size and all enjoy views to the mountains, the gardens and the surrounding countryside.
Of the 23 rooms there are 14 with full size private terraces and 1 with three balconies.
No two rooms are alike and all are individually styled and furnished to the very highest standard and have heating, air conditioning, satellite television with DVD player and high speed WI-FI internet connection.
All bathrooms are again an excellent size and, in addition to the standard services, all have a double wash basins, full size baths, showers, bidets as well as hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers.
Some have a Jacuzzi and 11 have separate walk in showers. The toiletries are by Moulton Brown of London.
