Hotel Description
Since 1947 The Colony has been at the center of Palm Beach social life hosting U.S. Presidents, European Royalty and American “Snowbirds” down for the winter season and all manner of discriminating travelers from around the world. Its location is ideal; adjacent to world famous Worth Avenue in the center of the town and a football field length from Palm Beach’s best beach. Blessed with classic British Colonial architecture, The Colony has just completed a $12 million renewal. All of the 92 guest rooms, suites, villas and penthouses are beautifully appointed having pillow top mattresses and 350 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets with European duvets. Three spectacular Penthouses top the main hotel and an adjacent mansion, Casa Manana, has been beautifully reconfigured into seven spacious villas. A true “boutique” hotel, small in size with a distinct personality, The Colony exudes charm and a truly friendly feeling. Some guests stay for weeks, even months. Many life long friendships have begun at our pool and lively conversation is a constant during cocktail-hour at the famous Polo bar or the (slightly funky) Bimini Bar. Although small, The Colony is a full-service hotel with Room Service, Concierge, Valet Parking, great food and top-notch music and entertainment. There are no conventions as such but many small, upscale corporate, political and university meetings. Dignitaries are a frequent occurrence and recently have included Presidents Bush and Clinton, Prince Edward and Princess Sofia and many others. The Colony has been discovered as a little gem for destination weddings which come to us from New York, Dallas, even London. Around the corner, literally, is America’s most unique shopping street, Worth Avenue. Three blocks of famous upscale retailers with fascinating little “vias” having dozens of high-end boutiques and galleries surrounded by classic Mizner architecture. Cartier, Tiffany, Gucci, Ferragamo, Tourneau, Neiman-Marcus, Saks, to name only a few. The Town of Palm Beach, as distinct from the City of West Palm Beach across the Intercoastal Waterway, is a truly unique Island having some of America’s finest homes; the average residential sale in the town during 2005 was over $5 million. Manicured estates and architecturally distinctive residences are the norm with quiet streets edged by our signature 20 foot tall Ficus hedges. Uncrowded beaches front its eleven mile length with the Gulf Stream being only a couple of miles out in the blue Atlantic.

Luxury Hotel Accommodation
The Colony’s hotel rooms, suites and penthouses reflect a British West Indies decor with pale yellow walls, tropical inspired draperies and imported Mahogany furniture. Guests will have a choice of king, queen or two double beds when making reservations. All beds have pillow top mattresses with Egyptian cotton linens, feather duvets and plenty of feather pillows. Other pillow types available upon request. The Colony has one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites. All suites have living rooms with sofa beds. Some of The Colony’s suites have two bathrooms. Rooms, suites and the penthouses all have complimentary wireless Internet available. Cable television includes HBO. Robes, hairdryers, safes, umbrellas and Molton Brown bath amenities included in all rooms. Refrigerators and cribs are available at no extra charge. Rollaway beds are available at an extra charge.

Facilities
The Polo Steakhouse, Palm Beach’s Best and most unique Steakhouse. Perhaps the only steakhouse anywhere having Al Fresco Dining and classic Tableside Cooking. Our Steaks and Standing Ribs are personally selected by Chef de Cuisine Steve Darling from large U.S.D.A. “Prime” cuts. Only 3% of Beef qualifies as Prime is so stamped by a U.S. Government Inspector at the processing plant. To qualify as Prime, the meat must have an abundance of white lines and specks called Marbling. Prime Steaks & Ribs are then aged “in-house” for a minimum of 28 days in our own special dry-air refrigeration equipment. This natural aging process not only tenderizes, it imparts a rich, creamy quality and subtle flavor. Your server will gladly show you the steak which is about to be prepared for you. Polo’s cozy bar is a pleasant social club for Palm Beachers who come for good conversation; perfect martinis and great music. Friday is Motown night when the dancing spills onto the Pool Deck until the wee hours. Saturday there is always a fine trio playing and, during the winter, the music and dancing goes on Tuesday through Saturday. Full English Breakfasts and Sunday Brunch - draw not just hotel guests but also “the Ladies who Lunch” crowd complete with little doggies and big hats. Every Cabaret night, Rob Russell hosts his now famous Cast Party when the Cabaret crowd comes to the Polo bar to meet the stars and dance the night away. Daytime specialties are our signature Lobster Bisque, “Polo’s Best” Chicken Salad, Lobster Salad and although not very steakhouse-like, little Tea sandwiches.

Location
Only 3.8 miles from West Palm Beach airport and in close proximity to the Fort Lauderdale and Miami airports the Colony Hotel is easily accessible.
