Hotel Description
Isandlwana Lodge is carved into the iNyoni rock overlooking Mount Isandlwana, the site of the historic Anglo-Zulu war battle which took place on the 22nd of January, 1879.

Today, the enigmatic mountain of Isandlwana nestles peacefully amongst the majestic beauty of the Zululand hills. In January 1879, however, it was the site of one of the most dramatic and enthralling events in the history of the Zulu Kingdom.

Take time to relax at the luxurious Lodge and re-live the history of both the Anglo Zulu and Anglo Boer Wars, as well as enjoy the vibrant culture of the modern Zulu people.
Luxury Hotel Accommodation
The lodge offers 12 luxurious en-suite rooms, which have been tastefully decorated and boast unparalleled views of Zululand’s most famous battle sites from their private and peaceful balconies. With only the cockerel crowing at dawn and the sounds of the herders bringing their cattle back to the village in the evening to break the silence.
Facilities
Located in the scenic Zululand hills, this lodge offers visitors the opportunity to step back in time with historian Rob Gerrard and re-live the fascinating Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer battles fought in the area.

The lodge has a lovely pool among the rocks where guests can cool off and relax after an exciting day on the battlefields. It also has a well-stocked library where you can brush up on your history, a comfortable lounge where you can relax and meet the other guests - and a cosy dining room where you can enjoy tasty meals prepared by the
specialist chef. After dinner entertainment is provided by local villagers performing traditional Zulu dances.

The lodge is a great base from which guests can enjoy fantastic cultural excursions including a visit to a local village, birding tours, horse trails, hiking trails and photographic trips.
