As you travel into the cool of the forest country, deeper and higher, far into the mountains you will find cybele forest lodge and health spa. Three hundred acres of african paradise, living forest, mountains and meadows. In the centre, the lodge is a charming old farmhouse with a wide verandah where you can sip sundowners whilst looking out over the magnificent gardens. Let the world slip away as you watch the monkeys cavorting in the giant turpentine trees. Take in the cool violet of the jacaranda, the shocking pink of the tibouchina and the scarlet umbrella of the african flame tree. Wander down to the large secluded heated swimming pool with its comfortable sun beds. Here you can relax and listen to the creaking of the bluegum trees in the forest breeze and breathe in the heady aromas of frangipani, gardenia and buddleia.
In striking contrast to the vivid colours and lush greenery of the garden, the interior of the lodge is warm and inviting. Furnished throughout with antiques, original art and exquisite fabrics, the main house is a most relaxing place to read a book or to browse through one of the many current magazines from all over the world. Luxury Hotel Accommodation
The magic of cybele emerges as you are shown to your room. Accommodation is limited to 28 guests, ensuring peace and quiet, and personal attention. Each of the suites and cottages has been furnished and decorated to exacting standards. Original art adorns the walls and every whim is catered for, from the well-stocked mini bar in each room - complete with freshly sliced lemon and lime for your gin-and-tonic and ginger for your tea - to the little sheep you’ll find on your pillow at night.
All rooms and suites have walled gardens, many with views over the mountains, and six have heated pools for your exclusive use. Other features include separate lounge areas, air conditioning throughout, heated towel rails, satellite television, immaculate bedrooms and bathrooms - many with walled outside showers, underfloor heating, and fireplaces ensuring, in winter, you can drift off to sleep with the comforting flicker of an open fire.

Dramatically increased in size, facilities now include several massage and beauty therapy rooms, including a new double treatment room enabling you to share your special experience. There are two hydrotherapy baths - one hewn from natural granite and situated in its own private courtyard, a steam room and spacious showers with multiple high-pressure jets. For your total wellbeing, come and experience one of our special health break packages which include a tailor-made low fat, high nutrient diet programme. And if you like, bring your partner or a friend who can happily enjoy the typical cuisine on offer whilst you gently detox, destress and relax in the most perfect surroundings imaginable.

There are some superb walks on the 300 acre property, the most popular of which is down through the forest to the river and along to the waterfall.
Horse-riding
We have our own stables on the property and our groom can take guests out on breathtaking horse rides through the forests.
Gymnasium
To provide the perfect balance between rest and rejuvenation, we have recently opened a fully equipped gymnasium at cybele, perfectly complementing the range of treatments, therapies and packages available at the spa. With its state of the art equipment and magnificent outlook over the gardens and into the forest, you couldn’t wish for an easier way to mix workout with pleasure. Equipment includes a treadmill, recumbent cycle, several adjustable benches and stands for specialized training as well as a rack of dumbbells and barbell equipment are available to all residents of cybele on a complimentary basis. A qualified trainer is usually available by appointment. The gymnasium also boasts two televisions, a full satellite system, chrome roof fans, a beautiful wooden floor and modern dressing room with lockers and all the necessary amenities.

Therapy at cybele – comprises a relaxing espresso, cappuccino and cocktail bar along with an exclusive gift emporium and art gallery. The shop is styled with modern furniture, a large sandstone fireplace, 18 globe chandelier, full satellite television and cd player and stereo. A selection of books and magazines are available for your pleasure. Therapy also offers light meals, cakes and confectionary. It is the ideal venue for a chilled glass of wine and relaxation.
