Executive Suites
Each Executive suite offers spectacular views overlooking historic Lake Tarawera, lavish king beds, comfortable chairs for lounging, grand picture windows and a private balcony with stunning vista. From the crispest sheets and freshly baked biscuits to the complimentary in room mini-bar, no detail has been overlooked.

Tarawera Suite
The Tarawera Suite features floor to ceiling glass that embrace an uninterrupted view from the tranquil bay up to the majestic summit of Mount Tarawera. This suite has a split level design and features a generous bedroom with relaxing sitting area and separate dining room. Private balconies are perfectly positioned to take in one of New Zealand’s most spectacular views.

Villa Suite
This two storey detached Villa Suite is all about space – the ground floor features a Master bedroom with ensuite plus a living / dining area and outdoor deck overlooking the bay. A second equally spacious bedroom with ensuite awaits upstairs. Ideal for families or group of friends travelling together, the Villa Suite offers relaxing communal space to enjoy each others company whilst also providing separate bedrooms and facilities to allow a personal retreat.

Solitaire Suite
Set in a separate building the Solitaire Suite offers peace, total privacy and a breathtaking outlook through dramatic picture windows across glassy Lake Tarawera. Guests will delight with the large master bedroom, lounge and bathroom to match. In addition, there is a private sundeck and separate guest bedroom.

Swimming, Boating & Kayaking
During the summer months you can unwind in the sun on Solitaire Lodge’s private beach and enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Tarawera. Alternatively, explore the lake’s many treasures onboard one of the lodge’s complimentary kayaks or motorized dinghies.

Natural Hot Water Springs
Solitaire Lodge vessels are available to take you to a nearby hot water beach where the water temperature is a consistent 38 degrees centigrade year-round, making for a truly relaxing soak!

Boat Charters
Take in the breathtaking scenery onboard a charter vessel. Local charter firms have been operating from our private jetty for the past 10 years and there local knowledge is second-to-none.

Trout Fishing
Lake Tarawera is renowned for the size and condition of Rainbow Trout it is home to. The lake consistently yields the largest number of trophy-sized Rainbow Trout in the Southern Hemisphere. Choose to explore the waters in your own time on board one of our motorized dinghies (complimentary) or let us arrange a guided adventure for you with an expert local guide.

Bushwalking
Lake Tarawera and its surrounds offers a myriad of walking and sightseeing opportunities – geothermal wonders, surging rivers, plunging forest waterfalls, delicate native species and more are all here to be discovered. The 6.4 km Lake Tarawera Fall Walk accessed only by boat is particularly popular.

Scenic Flights
With a heli pad onsite delegates are collected from their doorstep and can choose to be whisked away to explore spectacular White Island, an active Volcano off the coastline, the powdery ski slopes of Mount Ruapehu, or to some of the most awarded golf courses in New Zealand.

1. Head east towards Te Ngae Rd 30 m

2. Turn right onto Te Ngae Rd Go through 1 roundabout 5.7 km

3. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Tarawera Rd 13.1 km

4. Continue onto Spencer Rd 6.0 km
