Hotel Description
La Mansion Inn, a 22-guestroom boutique hotel in Manuel Antonio, was chosen as a “Best for Romance” and “Best Luxury” Hotel by TripAdvisor® in its 2009 Travelers’ Choice® awards. Situated on a mountainside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, rainforest canopy and Manuel Antonio National Park, the Inn provides fabulous 360 degree views from its rooftop "Sky Lounge", yet is just minutes away from pristine beaches, sport fishing at Quepos harbor, and the local airport.

Originally built as a private residence in 2000, the I.C.T. awarded five-star suites and rooms are anything but "standard". The luxurious West Wing was opened in 2006 and extra Penthouse Suites were added to the East Wing in 2009. Situated in the heart of the Inn is a genuine bat cave bar, unique to Costa Rica - a must see for guests!

All rooms are air-conditioned and have bathrooms, a dresser, television, and an in-room telephone system. Private outside sitting areas are accessible through sliding glass doors from every room, which open to incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding jungle. During your unforgettable stay, you may see an incredible variety of animals: monkeys, sloths, anteaters, large iguanas and "pizotes" and more than 200 species of birds!

The hotel is of elegant Mediterranean design and was constructed by a team of Swiss architects and decorated by Italian interior designers. Our interior displays a wealth of original paintings by some of Costa Rica's top artists. An eco-friendly project, water at the Inn is heated by solar energy. The Inn also has its own restaurant for fine dining, including other intimate areas for dining and relaxing. These include a patio with barbecue, an infinity swimming pool with Jacuzzi, and the Sky Lounge, which is open 24/7.

Your host, Harry Bodaan (former co-owner of the nearby five-star El Parador hotel), has personally attended to hundreds of distinguished guests and celebrities such as Vanessa Williams, Elizabeth Taylor, Stephen Stills, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ricky Schroder, Robert Redford, Don Johnson, Chuck Norris and Kevin Costner...just to name a few! We are confident that we can satisfy your needs as well.

In addition, Penthouse , 1 offers a separate 725 sq. ft. sundeck. The living rooms are beautifully appointed with dining area, television, stereo system, telephone and safe deposit box.

The bedroom offers a king-size bed with fine furnishings from Sarchi, crystal chandeliers, Jacuzzi, a double bathroom and a rich art collection. The livingroom of each suite is equipped with a king-size sofa bed, which can accomodate two more people.

Both suites rival our Award Winning Presidential Suite (Pure Decadence Award 2004, Elite Traveler Magazine) and Romanoff Suite. Both suites offer some of the highest views of the area and are about 500 ft. above sea level. As they say, "Fit for a King (and a Queen)".

Brand new, as of July 2009, we are proud to open Penthouses 3 and 4 to our list of luxury accommodations. Both are perfectly situated, capturing not only postcard views of the Pacific, but also the spanning rainforest which blankets the hills as they slope inland towards the mountains. Rooms are spacious – including closet and balcony space - and in tune with the down-to-earth elegance and classic tones of La Mansion Inn.

Location
La Mansión Inn is approximately 3 hours south of San Jose's Juan Santamaría International Airport. From the airport take the Pan American Highway west approximately 6 miles (or about 9.7 km). Take a right on the exit ramp for Atenas, then a left at the signs pointing toward Atenas and Jacó, crossing over the Pan American highway. Keep following the signs for Atenas, then Orotina and then Jacó. It will take you about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Jacó and then it is about another hour to Quepos via Parrita.

Once you arrive in Quepos (from San Jose), keep driving along the road that runs parallel to the beach. Turn left when you pass a small park - there is a sign here pointing that this is the way to Manuel Antonio.

Follow this road out of Quepos as it heads up the mountain, towards the Manuel Antonio National Park. Continue uphill for about 4 kilometers. When you see the Barba Roja Restaurant on your right ("Red Beard" Pirate-themed restaurant) you are getting close to the turn off. Just past Barba Roja you will see Cafe Milagro on your left. Opposite Cafe Milagro is the right-hand turn off that you must make.

Continue down this road in the direction of the ocean for about one mile. La Mansion Inn is located on the right-hand side and is signposted.

You may park your car on the side of the road outside the gates of the hotel if you wish, as the outside parking premises are guarded as well.
