General Description
Location. Facing the State Opera, the Art Nouveau Hotel Bristol is situated in the Karntnerstrasse shopping district of Vienna, Austria. The central hotel is four blocks from the Albertina gallery, the green Stadtpark and the interactive Haus der Musik music museum. Vienna International Airport (VIE) is 16 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Built in 1892, the Hotel Bristol has a black-and-white marble lobby, with gilded mirrors, potted palms and Biedermeier furniture.

Chandeliers, pink linen and Art Nouveau glass-and-wood screens decorate the Michelin-starred Korso bei der Oper restaurant, serving fine European and Austrian flavours. Overlooking the State Opera, Restaurant Sirk's walls are hung with photos of opera singers who once dined there. The restaurant offers Austrian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bistro- style Cafe Sirk serves Viennese cakes and coffee, while guests can enjoy wines, beers and spirits in the American-inspired Bristol Bar, which has green armchairs and antique racing prints.

The Hotel Bristol houses a small business centre and meeting rooms for hire. Dial-up Internet connections are available in public areas.

Guestrooms. The Hotel Bristol's 140 air- conditioned guestrooms epitomise turn-of-the-century style with antiques, oil paintings, embroidered bedspreads and heavy curtains. All rooms include dial-up Internet connections (surcharge), satellite television, minibars and walk-in wardrobes. Marble bathrooms have scales and bathrobes. A fruit basket and mineral water are provided on arrival.

Classic room - You enter our colourful, traditionally furnished rooms through a parlour of Calacatta and Nero Maquinia marble. Our classic rooms are equipped with queen-size beds and marble bathrooms.

Deluxe room - Spacious rooms in traditional style, with silk wall-tapestries furnished with antiques. The rooms are equipped with a spacious, luxurious, marble bathroom. Some have large French windows as well as open fireplaces. The king-size bed can be separated, upon request, to make twin beds. Non-smoking rooms are available on the mezzanine floor.

Approximately 40 m² in size, please note that, due to security reasons, the fireplaces cannot be used.

From Vienna International Airport (VIE):
Distance to the Hotel Bristol is 16 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there. An express train (CAT) leaves the airport every 30 minutes for the City Air Terminal. The journey time is 16 minutes, and single tickets cost 9 EUR. The S-7 S-Bahn train runs between the airport and central Vienna, stopping at a number of U- Bahn (underground) stations. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. Buses run to the city centre, Budapest, Bratislava, and the Westbahnhof and Sudbahnhof railway stations. Taxis to the city centre cost approximately 30 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Opposite the State Opera, the Hotel Bristol is 500 metres from the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Vienna city centre is best explored on foot. The city is served by a cheap and efficient public transport system, including buses, trams, and S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains. Taxis can be hailed on the street, but are quite expensive.
