Hotel Description
Gutshaus Stolpe is located in the heart of a listed estate dating back to the last century and surrounded by a beautiful park with a large stock of old trees.

What makes Gutshaus Stolpe so special is its concept. It draws its inspiration from the small country inns which abound in England or France. The hotelier is a friendly host rather than a profit-minded service provider.

The hotel invites guests to unwind and relax. Besides its guest rooms there are many other rooms where people can enjoy a tranquil moment, a glass of wine or a cup of tea, read a book or simply chat to other guests. The 33 guest rooms - including six suites - are mostly furnished with antiques. Every one is different.
Luxury Hotel Accommodation
Gutshaus Stolpe is located in the heart of a listed estate dating back to the last century and surrounded by a beautiful park with a large stock of old trees. The river Peene, which flows into the nearby Baltic Sea, runs along the boundaries of this spacious, privately owned land.

Gutshaus Stolpe was repurchased in 1994 by Kurt Stürken whose parents had been the estate owners up to 1945. He also purchased 150 hectares of rolling meadows and woodland. Over a period of two years the entire property was lovingly renovated, restored and converted into a hotel and restaurant.

The ground floor of the Gutshaus is the location not only of the restaurant but also of a large, inviting terrace with a view of the park, a wood-panelled bar with a library, an elegant lounge, the spacious entrance hall hall with a cosy fireplace corner and a garden salon with an antique tiled stove. Plenty of opportunities to discover new perspectives during a longer stay.

What's more, the hotel offers its guests numerous activities: tennis, water sports, hunting, sauna, fitness room, horseback riding, cycling - all on its own grounds! There is an 18-hole golf course only 30 kilometres away in Balm on the island of Usedom.

The 33 guest rooms - including six suites - are mostly furnished with antiques. Every one is different. Guests can choose between rooms in the main building with a 19th century ambiance or more Mediterranean-style rooms in the "Remise".

The furnishings required trips over a period of several months in Germany and further afield. The beds and some of the furniture were brought over from England, most of the lamps and fabrics from France. The interior fittings were made in Sweden, the cotto flooring comes from Spain, the fireplace from Italy...

Every effort was made to avoid the run-of-the-mill appliances to be found in most international hotels but no effort was spared when it comes to comfort.

And yet in Stolpe there is no air conditioning, no mini-bar, no fixed hairdryer and no soap dispenser in the guest rooms. Instead, Gutshaus Stolpe can offer many things which are few and far between in German hotels: a private and cultivated atmosphere, plenty of charm and excellent cuisine.
