Hotel Description
General Description
This unique boutique hotel has great charm. It is not only that all of the rooms have been decorated in an individual style with imagination, but they bear the personal stamp of the Russian owner, a former journalist and native of St. Petersburg, who has put his heart and his soul into an old building, that he bought as a ruin, and has transformed. If your image of St. Petersburg has been formed by reading Dostoevsky, Gogol and Tolstoy, then this is the hotel for you. The Alexander House is located on the Kryukov Canal Embankment, the area known locally as 'Bohemia', close to the Mariinsky Theatre and the Conservatory, in the private residence built in year 1826. In the hotel there are 19 comfortable rooms, lobby bar with 24 hours service, conference hall with library, spacious living room with fireplace, hall and summer garden. Every one of our 16 rooms is different, and has its own particular character. All of the rooms have heating in the winter, and air conditioner for the summer month.

Alexander House is situated in central St Petersburg, only a short distance from Theatre Square (site of the Mariinsky Theatre and the Conservatory). If you are coming by car for the first time, and you have not arranged an airport or railway station transfer with us, please note that our house can be reached either through Theatre Square, and along Kryukov Canal Embankment, or along the Fontanka River Embankment, at the corner with Kryukov Canal.
If you are coming from the airport, the journey should take no more than 35 minutes; somewhat longer during rush hour. Take Moskovsky Prospect all the way to Sennaya Ploshad, then left, and along Ulitsa Sadovaya, and left at the Kryukov Canal Embankment.
Nearest Metro
The nearest metro stations are Sennaya Ploshad and Sadovaya. It is a very attractive walk from the metro to our house; there are various routes, and it will take you about 20 mins. If you do not want to walk, you can pick up a micro-bus at the corner of Sennaya Ploshad and Ulitsa Sadovaya.
