General Information:A new and charming traditional Ottoman-style hotel right on the doorstep of two thousand years of history in Istanbul's west city-centre. Member of the Sirkeci hotel chain and restaurant group, the establishment was recently built and inaugurated in 2007. The Sirkeci Konak Hotel contains its own definition in the name ""Konak"". This is a large house, normally used as a Turkish official residence and in the old Ottoman Empire. Its creation was the fruit of a innovative focus based on combining the old 19th century style with modern 21st century comfort. The result is a harmonious blend of traditional Ottoman hospitality and all of today's modern comforts. Area:Sirkeci Konak is located at the historical peninsula and in a few minutes walking distance to major historical areas, museums, shopping centers and public transport points. The Hotel also shares a stage with the impressive Topkapi Palace only 50 metres away and whose courtyard enjoys excellent views. Guests can take advantage of the area to have a nice walk or go jogging. As well as that, the hotel's central yet quiet location gives guests the privilege of not only being able to walk to the majority of the museums, monuments and shops but also just to enjoy the quiet location. Distance to the Sirkeci Konak Hotel is 20 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Both airport terminals are connected to the metro system, which runs to the city centre. Single tickets cost about 1 TRY. Take the metro to Aksaray and then the tram to Gulhane, 100 metres from the hotel. Taxis wait outside Arrivals; fixed prices are in place and the fare to the hotel should be about 20 TRY. At night, there is a 50 percent surcharge. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Istanbul's extensive public transport system includes buses, metros (underground trains), trains, trams, sea buses, and ferries. Tickets can be purchased from main stops, stations, or kiosks prior to boarding. Istanbul's yellow taxis are reasonably priced, but travellers should ensure the meter is used. A cheaper alternative is to use a 'dolmus' (minibus or shared taxi). Driving is not advised for visitors.
Driving directions. From the airport head in the direction of Yesilkoy.
After approximately three kilometres go straight over the roundabout and continue for about 17 kilometres.
Turn left at the roundabout and head for Sultanahmet.
After 150 metres turn left into Kucuk Ayasofya Street and left again at the Blue Mosque.
Once at the Sultanahmet follow the tram road, staying in the right-hand lane.
Just after Gulhane tram station, continue straight into Taya Hutan Street. The hotel is on the left-hand side.
