Great Fosters' many reception rooms are richly adorned with oak beams and panelling, Jacobean chimneypieces, fine furnishings and exceptional works of art. Reflecting centuries of history, art and architecture, the rooms are nevertheless immaculately maintained and offer every modern comfort in the most charming of settings.

A Hotel For Every Occasion
Great Fosters welcomes guests for private events in a variety of private dining rooms, serving gourmet dishes inspired by Head Chef Christopher Basten. Likewise, the hotel is a wonderful setting for a wedding, christening or private celebration, and has excellent facilities for business meetings and functions - all of which our professional staff can advise on and help to organise.

Relaxing In The Grounds And Beyond
Guests have full use of the hotel's leisure facilities, including a heated outdoor swimming pool (open from May to September), a hard tennis court and a croquet lawn. The extensive gardens alone inspire guests to visit from all corners of the world and have been listed as �of outstanding merit'. Guests can also enjoy a round of golf at the famous Wentworth Golf Club, just a few miles from the hotel, racing at Ascot, pageantry at Windsor as well as many other nearby sporting and historical attractions.
Luxury Hotel Accommodation
All the suites and bedrooms at Great Fosters are individually decorated, some with four-poster beds, Persian rugs, gilt furnishings and damask walls, many with tapestries, antiques and artefacts dating back hundreds of years. Guests are accommodated in three separate buildings. The Main House, which dates from 1550, offers a choice of historic suites and bedrooms. The Cloisters, which is reached a cross a courtyard, offers contemporary suites and double rooms which were refurbished in May 2001. In addition The Coach House provides more basic accommodation in a choice of double and single rooms.

The Tapestry Room

This distinguished yet welcoming room is famed for its wonderful ceiling displaying Percy Badges, a masterful chimneypiece and an enchanting carved stone mantelpiece depicting the story of Adam and Eve and believed to date to 1600. The elegant wooden overmantel displays carvings of Ratio, Veritas and Victoria, while either side of the grand fireplace, and opposite, the walls are adorned with early 17th century Flemish tapestries. The bathroom features a traditional Victorian roll top bath and a double shower.
