General Description
Location. The Palace The Old Town is located in the centre of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai Mall is three kilometres away and the Jumeirah Beaches are 15 kilometres awa y.
Hotel Features. Set in Dubai's Old Town Island on the edge of a lake, The Palace The Old Town occupies a modern Moorish-style property and opens to a modern lobby area offset by ornate woodwork, antique- style furnishings, and a water feature. The hotel offers an outdoor pool flanked by palm trees and houses a spa with fitness room, sauna, jetted tub, and massage services. There is a multilingual concierge service, and further amenities include onsite parkin , 24-hour room service, and laundry facilities.

The Palace The Old Town houses a range of restaurants including the rustic Argentinean steak restaurant, Asado, with its exposed brick walls, Ewaan, an Arabian-style restaurant serving Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes throughout the day, and the Thai restaurant Thiptara, boasting a modern Asian setting and offering lake views. There is a pool bar and a lobby bar, and bars in the Thiptara and Asado restaurants.

The hotel houses a comprehensive business centre and four meeting rooms.

Guestrooms. The 242 guestrooms are decorated in a modern style with a Middle Eastern influence, and are finished with crisp, white linen and dark wood furnishings. All rooms extend to balconies and include air conditioning, complimentary wireless Internet, satellite television with DVD players, hair dryers, minibars, and safes.

Expert Tip. The Dubai Museum, located 20 kilometres from the hotel, is housed in a renovated 18th- century fort, thought to be the city's oldest structure. Exhibitions offer insight into desert life and pearl trading, and further highlights include a vast collection of musical instruments and forms of weaponry.

Distance to The Palace The Old Town is 29 kilometres, approximately 35 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Pre-paid taxis can be found at Terminal 1's Arrivals' hall, and the fare to the hotel is approximately 60 AED. Limousines can be hired in the Arrivals' hall. Buses run to the city centre every 10 minutes from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Bus stations are located opposite Terminals 1 and 2. Buses 44, 33, 15, 11, and 4 run to the city centre from Terminal 1, passing near to most major hotels. Bus number 2 runs to the city centre from Terminal 2, also passing near to most major hotels. Buses depart approximately every 20- 30 minutes, and a single ticket costs 2 AED. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Public buses offer a reasonable service between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Buses travel from Bur Dubai station, on Al-Ghubaiba road, and Deira bus station, near the gold souk. Buses have separate seated sections for women and men, with women typically sitting near the front. Travellers should pay the correct fare to the driver. In older parts of Dubai, small wooden motorboats cross over Dubai Creek between early morning and midnight. Air-conditioned taxis are efficient, cheap, and safe, and can be pre-booked by telephone or hailed in the street.

Driving directions. From the airport, head towards Sheikh Zayed Road.
Turn left onto Doha Street from Interchange No 1.
Turn right at Downtown Burj Dubai to reach the Old Town Island.
